HTML PocketOFFLINE WEB APP LIBRARY · V3
Starting offline engine…

Bring your HTML
everywhere.

Import projects from Files, run JavaScript, and keep your tools and games available without a connection.

Use a permanent HTTPS site, not a temporary Netlify Drop URL. Your saved apps belong to this site’s origin; export a backup before changing domains.

My apps

Locally stored on this device

🔒
Saved locally, no account required.

Imported files live in this web app’s on-device browser storage. Back up important projects. iOS may remove website data when storage is cleared or under storage pressure.

App settings

Execution mode

iOS still asks permission where required. Neither mode bypasses browser or system limitations. Some online dependencies need internet. If a trusted app cannot request a device permission inside the viewer, try ↗ to open it in a separate window. Some permissions are restricted by iOS.

How to use

Install on an iPhone

  1. Host this folder on an HTTPS website (GitHub Pages, Netlify, Cloudflare Pages, etc.).
  2. Open the site in Safari.
  3. Tap Share → Add to Home Screen and enable Open as Web App.
  4. Open the new icon. Once the offline engine says Ready, import files and run your projects offline.

Import projects

Select a single .html file, multiple related files, or a .zip containing an entry HTML file (typically index.html). Relative resource URLs resolve inside the project. ZIP archives are unpacked on your device.

Permissions and isolation

Sandboxed is best for unfamiliar HTML. It runs JavaScript in an opaque-origin iframe but restricts storage, camera, and some other APIs. Trusted offers broader standard web features, subject to iOS prompts and support, at the cost of giving imported code the launcher’s origin privileges. Only run your own or reviewed HTML in trusted mode.

Limits

No arbitrary background Files access, no unrestricted native iOS APIs, no guaranteed support for project-level service workers, and no automatic offline caching of third-party CDN content. Browser storage may be evicted. Extremely large ZIPs and unsupported compression formats are rejected.

Back up your apps

Use Back up entire library to save all projects and settings in a ZIP archive. You can import that ZIP into HTML Pocket V3 on another host. Individual project exports are still available. Never delete your old Home Screen app or clear Safari data until you have saved and verified a backup.

Hosting and offline lifetime

The initial website URL must stay live for updates and recovery if iOS removes caches. A Service Worker caches the launcher, but cannot guarantee that iOS will retain its storage forever. Claim your Netlify site under a permanent account, or use GitHub Pages/Cloudflare Pages. Reinstalling on a different domain creates a separate library.
